Installation to server running mariadb clobbers mariadb

Eric shared this problem 1 month ago

I am attempting to install the unstable version to an Ubuntu 16.04 server, which already has Mariadb installed as a replacement for mysql. The bluecherry install clobbers the mariadb installation, and tries to install mysql 5.7, leaving me with no working database server. Would it be possible to have bluecherry play nicely with mariadb?

We don't support alternative DB configurations, but you can try to install Mariadb after installing Bluecherry server

As a temporary solution I'll check to see if we could block installation of the server if mariadb is installed.
